At least USA Today got it right
With last night's jaw-dropping finish to the Texas-Texas Tech game, I had my fingers crossed that Penn State would advance to the #2 or even #1 spot in the polls. But it would appear that we're #2 in only the USA Today poll; the AP Top 25 poll has us still at #3. I have to wonder if maybe the bye week went against us, since both Alabama and Texas Tech (obviously) played this weekend.

The bye week didn't matter, Texas Tech would have jumped either way. The good news is the USAT poll AKA coach's poll counts in the BCS calculations and the AP does not. Also, Texas Tech and Alabama have tough roads ahead of them. Penn State just needs to take care of their own business and let the chips fall where they may.
Penn State is also fighting the "Big Ten sucks" argument from the media. As much as we dislike Ohio State, having the Buckeyes fall on their faces in 3 national tv games over the last 2 years really embarrasses the whole conference.
Root hard for LSU and Oklahoma State this weekend!!!
